What's so special about the watch?

I personally like that large black sub-dial at 6'O. There's quite a bit of detail in this 38mm case that leaves you with a lot to look at, despite the less than optimal handset. In fact the more you look the more charm it seems to get - a solid design within a solid stainless steel case.

What are the functions of the watch?

30 minute chronograph, quickset day and date, time.

Let me tell you about the case...

What immediately strikes you is the thick polished bezel, sitting atop the c-case curves of a solid stainless steel base. This actually sets the stage for the detailed dial and its striking color combination.

This case in particular is in relatively good condition, its bevelled edges showing slightly and its lugs remaining thick and stalky. Hairline scratches are present, but nothing we don't normally see on vintage pieces. No notable dings or damage is present.

Last but not least, the hardlex glass is free from scratches, giving a nice unobstructed view of the dial.

And now the dial...

The dial has got to be the highlight of the watch - a wonderful combination of black, gold and white. The rehaut is a sloping black ring with a tachymeter printed in white. Linking the rehaut to the dial are the long stick markers streaked in lume.

The gold sunburst dial has aged beautifully, acquiring a nice coat of grey that complements nicely with the black markings on the dial. Hash minute and sub-minute markings are clearly printed inbetween each stick hour maker, a very nice detail to look at on the loupe.

A black sub-dial ends the dial tour, recessed into the 6'O in true 6139 style, the minute hash marks printed firmly and clearly on its edge.

Let's not forget the hands...

Here's where the charm lacks a little. The white hands are nicely aged, with the lume gaining a beautiful green patina.
