What's so special about the watch?

Rose gold is not a typical hue you see on vintage Seiko watches. While it may be plated, this piece brings with it the very nice, warm glow of a RG piece, complete with a symmetrical dial that's free from the invasive date window.

This piece oozes simplicity - a thin case profile, domed crystal, rose gold plating, a clean dial decorated sparingly with a crosshair and thin guilloche chapter ring. 

The level of finishing on this dial is also exceptional, its fine printed minute markers perfectly in line with the pressed indices on its chapter ring. I enjoy wearing this piece out in the day time where the sunlight can fully bring out the color of the rose gold.

Let me tell you about the case...

There's much to the dial, and so Seiko has decided to let that do the talking for this piece. The case is slim and subtle, a thin bezel leading to slim straight lugs that allows the strap to sit close to the case, making for a nice wrist shot. 

This watch has been rose gold plated, 20 microns like the rest of Seiko's vintage offering. Much of the plating remains, indicative of the light wear from its previous owners. There is a slight wear of the plating at the lugs, but that it common again among watches that have been loved and worn. 

The caseback is free from heavy damage (we have the pop back to thank for that). Inside the caseback we see clean markings. I have taken the watch for servicing once in 2017, but have not taken the caseback off for a shot.

And now the dial...

This watch has a face you don't get tired of looking at. A subtle sunburst is visible on the light matte finishing, the interior of the dial coming off in a slight dome, producing a great effect with the light.

All the markings on the dial are printed nice and clean, free from the ravaging effects of time and constant wear. The clean rose gold dial (sans slight spotting) is accentuated with find black printing to make a really legible layout. A crosshair sets the center, with fine long 5-minute markers reaching a third of the way to the middle. 

There are two horizontal printed markings on the dial, balanced perfectly and anchored by a curved print at the lower 6.

A perculiar feature on the dial is the flat guilloche chapter ring, from which gold indices extend. The two at 12 extend downwards, complementing the curved print at 6. 

Let's not forget the hands...

In gold, to match the indices, the sharp minute and hour hands are match with a thin slender sweeping seconds that skim the edge of the flat guilloche chapter ring.
